12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Our opening Scripture reveals that God has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. God qualified you, not because you were qualified by yourself; but He qualified you because of Jesus. So, it is not a personal qualification, for we have been qualified with the qualification of Jesus. What Jesus did for us at Calvary is our qualification to partake of the inheritance of the saints in light. God made Jesus our qualification and He qualified us with Jesus’ qualification. Verse 13 says He has delivered us from the power of darkness. If God’s word means anything, this Scripture is enough for you to boldly affirm that you will never be in bondage again for the rest of your life! Our opening Scripture says “who hath,” meaning He has, not that He is going to. He has delivered us from the authority of darkness; it is a done deal! It is amazing how some people are still looking for some form of deliverance somehow, somewhere. The Word says God has delivered the born-again child of God from the power, authority, dominion, rulership of darkness. This means that every right that darkness had to rule and dominate you, Jesus has delivered you from that right or authority. This is good enough to make a praiser and a psalmist out of you. You should jump up, shout, and rejoice in the light of this revelation, that now, you are a free man. Hallelujah.
As a believer, to truly appreciate what Jesus has done for you and what He has delivered you from, it is good that you know and understand that the bible speaks of the fact that we have been delivered from the power of darkness. What is darkness? Is lack darkness? Absolutely! What about sicknesses and diseases? What about oppression? What of nightmares? Fear of the future? Fear of death? They all stand for darkness. So, do this little exercise, write down what darkness means to you, as it pertains to you personally. Write at least ten things that darkness means to you, in your own understanding. This practical approach to this Scripture is very important to help you understand what redemption truly is. This is to the end that you may practically apply the Word of God, so that you can walk in dominion and in the liberty that Jesus Christ has purchased for you. Having written them down, you need to now go back to Colossians 1:13, which says that “God (through Christ) has DELIVERED us from the power or authority of darkness and not just that but has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son Jesus Christ. He has delivered you from the ability of darkness to tame, to harm and to destroy. That means that darkness (whatever you’ve written down there), has no power to harm you. Amen!!! Hallelujah!!!!
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus, I declare that I have been delivered from the authority of darkness. Now, I have been translated into the kingdom of Jesus Christ.
