5 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.
6 Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.
7 God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.
And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.
Thanksgiving is acknowledgement that God is your source and sustainer and that your faith is in Him. When you give thanks to God, you acknowledge Him as source and sustainer. Romans 1:21 tells us, “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened,” which means that thanksgiving glorifies God. Therefore, you cannot truly glorify God as God without giving thanks unto His Name. Anytime there is silence and people are not singing the praise of God, their imaginations become vain; their hearts become foolish and undiscerning. But when you get into rejoicing and thanksgiving, you are setting the atmosphere right and in such an atmosphere, God manifests Himself. He will do things in your life that will make people exclaim “Ah! That is the finger of God!!!”Anytime you begin to rejoice in the Lord and His joy takes you over, you make room for enlargement because that is how to activate the anointing for increase!
Our opening Scripture today clearly shows what God has prepared for those who give thanks gladly and deliberately. It says “And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry…” For there to be multiplication and glorification, there must be a release of thanksgiving to God with gladness of heart. You may not always feel like singing, but you have to learn to break forth into singing by faith. You give thanks and sing and rejoice before the Lord because the Word says so, not because you feel like it. That’s pure faith – bible faith! There are times you just need to find a corner in your house or in your room and start dancing there, giving thanks to God, magnifying Him. You lift up your hands unto God who is great and greatly to be praised and adore and worship Him. As a child of God, you must learn to make merry in a spirit inspired way and that by faith. Don’t wait for a comedian to make you laugh. There is a laughter generator in you! The joy of the Lord is your strength. There is a river in you, the streams thereof will make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High God; and that river is the Spirit of God in you. The Holy Spirit in you is the Spirit of joy! Hallelujah! Remember, the effect of thanksgiving and rejoicing before God is multiplication and glorification. Hallelujah!!!
My Solid Front (Confession):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that thanksgiving and the voice of joy proceed from my heart through my mouth unto the Lord continually; and I am multiplied and glorified exceedingly in Jesus’ Name!
