1 I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
God’s Word is the reality we must all come to and go by. Irrespective of your situation, the Word remains the same, therefore your feelings might not agree with the Word, but it is the reality you have to come to and the earlier you do, the better, the faster you will begin to command Word-based results. Don’t treat God’s Word like a spare tyre of a car that might not be used in years because it is not always needed. God’s Word is not our spare tyre; God’s Word is our life. “And Jesus answered him, saying, it is written, that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God” (Luke 4:4). So, we live by the Word. Beloved, mention your name and declare this, “I live by the Word.” Micah 6:8 says, “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” What does it mean to do justly? To do justly is to live by the Word, not by our feelings. Justice is defined by standards. Justice is defined by the Word. So, to do justly means to practice the Word, to do the Word. Doing the Word simply means acting on what God has said. God defines justice, His word is righteousness. Whatever God has commanded in His word, that’s righteousness, and that’s justice. So, we practice the Word and put the Word to work.
Acting on the Word is not like you saying ‘Lord, place your hand on me and cause me to act on your word.’ No! God didn’t say He will make you act on His Word. Yes, He will help you by His Spirit, He will strengthen you by His Spirit, but you will do the acting on the Word yourself as an act of your will in faith because you are not a robot; you are a free moral agent. Grace is available to act on the Word, but God does not act on His Word for us, and He is not going to violate your will either. So, you have to train yourself to act on the Word, to live by the Word. In our opening Scripture, David said “I will bless the Lord at all times…” Irrespective of how you feel, you will bless the Lord at all times. That is what it means to act on the Word. In Philippians 4:4, the Word says to rejoice always. Why? There will be moments in your life when you will not feel like rejoicing, so the Word is telling you ahead, rejoice always. This is the way to live in victory, come what may. Beloved, respond to the Word by faith! Don’t let your feelings have the best of you!
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the Name of Jesus, I bless the Lord at all times, and His praise is continually in my mouth. I rejoice always! Amen!
