26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
From our opening Scripture, we see the second thing that stands out in God’s great plan, purpose and will for man. God said, “…let them have dominion…” Design speaks of purpose. God’s purpose for man is to have dominion over all the earth. Then, the third important element in the creation of man is the blessing of God conferred on man. God conferred the blessing on man. Verse 28 of Genesis 1 says “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” The blessing of God confers dominion on man. God made us in His image and after His likeness, and He blessed us to exercise dominion as rulers and kings on earth. So, according to God’s design, man has the capacity to function in dominion like God; and the blessing is God’s empowerment on man to function in that capacity. Yes, when God created man, He created him with the ability to think, act and function like Him, but without the blessing, though man is fully loaded and ready to function, there cannot be performance. So, God blessed man and empowered man to function.
The blessing is the empowerment. No matter how expensive a car is, no matter the design and capacity of the car, without fuel, the car cannot be driven. The blessing is the empowerment that powers man to function according to God’s will and according to God’s design. So, when the blessing is declared upon you, respond in the affirmative and say Amen. Don’t say “well, I have said enough Amen for a lifetime.” ‘Amen’ is not just something you say in Church as a response to prayers, it is an affirmation of what you believe, an agreement to whatever is proclaimed over your life. So, when you say ‘Amen’, you are saying “I believe it and that is mine.” Say Amen! Beloved, you are blessed, and the blessing finds unhindered expression in and through you in Jesus’ Name. Say Amen! So, God made sure to empower man when He was done creating mankind. Genesis 1:26 reveals His will and design for man, Genesis 1:27 reveals His action and execution of that plan, and Genesis 1:28 reveals His empowerment of man by conferring the blessing on mankind. You have been empowered to function in the fulness of God’s capacity. Believe it and give expression to the blessing today in Jesus’ Name.
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that I am blessed to prosper and walk in the fullness of God’s purpose for me. I walk in dominion by the power of the blessing every day!
