3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Every child of God ought to love to fellowship with God the same way children love to fellowship with their parents. It is an innate desire in every child to be with their parents. It is unnatural for a child to detest the company and fellowship of his or her parents. Every true child of God loves to fellowship with God and loves to abide in His presence. Our opening Scripture begins with a profound privilege bestowed on every child of God. It says that our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son, Jesus Christ. What a priceless honour and blessing showered on us in Christ. Hallelujah! Therefore, the passion of a true Christian is to fellowship with God. Anywhere the Word of God is taught, anywhere the Spirit of God is moving, anywhere God’s people are gathered to minister to God, He wants to be there to harness the beauty of God in fellowship with Him. Every true child of God loves His presence, loves the Word, and loves to meditate and listen to the Word, loves praying, and fellowship with the brethren. These things come natural for a child of God. Well, that doesn’t mean that children of God don’t have challenges doing these things sometimes, but they have to give in to the flesh to have these things hindered in their lives. However, so long the flesh is put under, these things flow like rivers.
Inherent every child of God is the desire to grow into Christ in all things – in power and character, in the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. In truth, nothing else can truly satisfy the child of God other than the fullness of God. That’s the quest of every true child of God. Therefore, everything that leads to that fullness – fellowship with God in prayers, in the Word and with the brethren – is a welcome idea to the child of God. Hebrews 10:25 says, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” It’s important that you know that a Christian is a lover of God and His people, and so loves to fellowship with them. A Christian should not have unbelievers as close and covenant friends with whom he shares the deep secrets of his heart. A true child of God should not love to be elsewhere when there’s a church service or meeting going on. David said in Psalms 122:1, “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.” You, too, ought to be glad in the presence of God, in Church, and in fellowship with the brethren.
My Solid Front (Confession):
My love and my passion are towards God and towards His house. I hold in reverence the things of God and I hold on to fellowship with the Father and with His people. I take my personal devotion to God seriously and I take my attendance in church diligently. My life reflects God to the people around me.
