1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord but by the Holy Ghost.
God is a speaking God. Right from the beginning at creation, we saw the power of the spoken Word of God expressed again and again. Man was made a speaking being like God and as such, God can speak through him because man is the visibility of the invisible God (Genesis 1:26). In fact, what makes the Bible interesting and full of proofs is the power of the spoken Word of God. The beauty of the Bible and that of creation stems out of the spoken Word. God made all things by His Word. The created world is a product or creation of the Word of God. Man was made to speak the Word of God like God Himself with power and potency, getting the same results as God. Our opening Scripture tells us that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed. So, there is such a thing as speaking by the Spirit of the Lord. In Christ, you can speak by the Spirit of God; and by so doing, you cause a change in nature. God’s Word in your lips spoken in faith is as potent as God Himself speaking it. You can speak the Word of God by faith and by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
One of the major manifestations of the Spirit is utterance – the ability to speak by the Spirit of God. As a child of God, the ability to speak by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit is yours in Christ and this manifestation is given by the Holy Spirit. In Joel 2:28-29, the Word tells us that in the last days, God will pour out His Spirit upon all flesh and God’s people will prophesy, which means that they will speak the Word of God. We speak the Word of God by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. As we speak the Word in the Church by the inspiration of the Spirit, we reveal and enforce the Lordship of Jesus Christ; for no man can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. So, the Holy Spirit inspires us to speak the Word and as we do, Christ Jesus is revealed and glorified among us as Lord; for the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy. When we speak by the Spirit, we prophesy; and when we prophesy, we edify, exhort and comfort the Church, and in all that Jesus Christ is glorified. Understand that all the manifestation of the Spirit is to one end, to reveal Jesus to people, to glorify Him as Lord, so that everyone may worship Him as such, in His glory, and power and majesty. Desire to speak by the Spirit; long to prophesy!
My Solid Front (Confession):
I declare that I am born of God and that I prophesy by the inspiration of the Spirit unto edification, exhortation and comfort of the Church; and as I prophesy, Jesus is glorified as Lord. Amen!
