8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
The best way to know how things ought to be is to compare how things are to how they were originally designed or meant to be. If there is no original, masterplan, blueprint plan, we cannot tell genuine from counterfeit. Anything that is a variant, or deviation from the original, is a look alike of the original; it is not the original. The original convicts the counterfeit. When issues of life present themselves to us and seem to be the status quo, we ought to seek to know what was in the beginning as against what obtains now. If it is so now, but was not so in the beginning, the present is a far cry from what ought to be. In fact, this is the way to correctly weigh the options before us, whether or not we are to consider them. Whenever you are faced with a challenge, learn to ask “In the beginning, was it so?” “Did God create man to be poor, weak, overwhelmed by the challenges of life?” “Did God make man to be subject to circumstances and pressures of life?” Asking these questions will help your view of life. It will help you to begin to see life from God’s perspective, instead of from your situation. When you, according to the Word, realize that it was not so in the beginning, you will gain the needed courage and strength of faith to alter the status quo. Faith begins where the will of God is known. You will never believe God beyond the knowledge of His will that you have.
Always remember this, never forget it: The Word always reveals the truth, what was in the beginning, what ought to be. After the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, a whole lot, much more than can be imagined, shifted from what used to be according to God’s original intent. You have to learn to see things through God’s eyes, from God’s perspective. In the opening scripture, the Lord Jesus tells us that in the beginning divorce was not God’s idea of marriage. He is calling the attention of His audience to what ought to be that is not so. In the world today, what is has deviated greatly from what ought to be. However, through faith in the Word, we can eradicate the discrepancy. Faith always references the beginning. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God, and the Word was with God (John 1:1). It is evident how to reference the beginning. When we go to the Word, we reminisce and bask in the realities of the beginning. Get to the Word. Go to the Word. Reference the beginning, and refuse to believe a lie.
My Solid Front (Confession):
In the Name of Jesus Christ, I refuse to be deceived by what I see. I am not moved by what I feel, I am not moved by what I see; I am only moved by the Word of God. Amen.
